This is a procedural composition project involving generative techniques mixed with live tracking/performance of synth sounds. The process involved:
1) Generating a random length note sequence that was then used to activate chords. This chordal data was then processed by a handful of arppegiators whose parameters were being automated through a random LFO selection process.
2) This randomized chordal data was recorded as midi data.
3) The midi data was used to drive a Korg MS-20 or sampled Moog MG-1 sounds (I do not have a CV to midi converter for the MG-1, but this was only used on a couple tracks, by and large 95% of what is heard is the MS-20.) Each track involved patching a new sound together via the CV patchbay on the MS-20 in order to create a new, distinct sound and timbre.
4) Each take was recorded onto two channels, one dry, the other through a Memory Man bucket brigade style analog delay.
5) All tracks were then mixed leveraging the 'Shape' LFO device within Reason leveraging 5 parallel values from the same LFO, separated via phase/skew.
6) The mix bus leveraged compression and a convolution reverb to recreate spring reverb.
